BCS students shine in Lee’s Wall of Fame on 1-28-25
Bellefontaine City Schools is well represented in the Wall of Fame at Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken in Bellefontaine.
The Bellefontaine Police Department, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, and 98.3 WPKO & 107.3 The Drive unveiled the newest Wall of Fame members Tuesday night.
Four students from Bellefontaine City Schools and two students from Calvary Christian were honored during the ceremony at the restaurant.
The inductees were chosen by staff members for their leadership, selfless service to others, and dedication to making our community better.
Each school was asked to select one student and provide a summary of why the student was chosen.
Their photo and summary are featured in the Wall of Fame display in the restaurant.
The inductees include:
Jacob Chernowsky, Bellefontaine Elementary School, 2nd-grader
Jacob is a remarkable elementary student who consistently demonstrates kindness, respect, and has a positive attitude toward everyone around him. He is a natural leader, always willing to help, share, and make others feel included. For these reasons, Bellefontaine Elementary is proud to have Jacob represent us on the Lee’s Chicken Wall of Fame.
Rei Stamegna, Bellefontaine Intermediate School, 3rd-grader
Rei is a delightful student to have in class. She is kind and caring to others. She is a friend to all and sees the value in everyone. Rei provides detailed and thoughtful responses during classroom discussions and group work.
Malek Alhaj, Bellefontaine Middle School, 6th-grader
Malek is the kind of student and person that everyone wants to know. He is a diligent worker with quality in mind. He frequently does assignments over, not just for the grade, but because he thinks he could turn in a higher quality product. However, his studiousness is not even his best quality. Malek is kind to everyone. He does not distinguish between peer groups. He is willing to be partners or work in groups with anyone. And most of all, he has a smile every day for students and adults alike.
Matt Finch, Bellefontaine High School, 12th-grader
Matt is one of the most treasured students at BHS! Matt is involved in a lot of different activities: He is a student manager for our football team, participates in pep band at home basketball games playing the drums, and has made guest performances with the marching band on Friday nights. Matt also fills our halls with his energy throughout the day!
Gwyndolyn Davis, Calvary Christian Elementary School, 5th-grader
Gwyndolyn Davis is passionate about serving and helping. She has been dedicated (for weeks) in picking up trash and lost items outside of school during recess and at the end of the school day. She regularly comes in with armfuls of trash and lost items and also looks for ways to help teachers, students, and staff every day. Her selfless serving reminds me of Jesus.
Jeremiah Hermiller, Calvary Christian High School, 12th-grader
Jeremiah Hermiller has shown grit and determination, and he’s just an authentic person. He has taken on a lot of responsibility with the broadcasting team, he’s not shied away from the hard classes his senior year (and really works hard to do well in them), and he’s overall a kind, considerate, and serving young man. He seems to jump at the opportunity to help someone if they’re struggling or needing assistance, and he has a way about him to make people smile and just cheer up their day.
Family members and school administrators attended the ceremony, which was streamed live on https://peakofohiotv.com/
