SEA is coordinated by Bellefontaine City Schools, Benjamin Logan Schools, and Indian Lake Schools in collaboration with the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center.
The SEA coordinators are Angie Horvath, Bellefontaine City Schools; Sally Stolly, Benjamin Logan; Kelli Tebbe, Indian Lake; and Erica Baer-Woods, Midwest Regional Educational Service Center and Riverside.
Many of the instructors are educators; however, there are instructors from the community.
The purpose of the academy is to create academic and creative challenges for highly motivated students.
The young learners have been engaged in these unique courses.
SEA leaders said, “The purpose of the camp is to achieve life skills and to provide enrichment in the students’ specific interests. The teachers get to teach a subject they’re very passionate about. Finally, the students get to know kids from other districts. It’s truly cooperative learning.”
The academy started Monday and will conclude Friday. Camp hours are 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Bellefontaine City Schools has been providing busing to BCS students this week.
