Class of 2038 enjoys first day of school
Bellefontaine Elementary School welcomed the Class of 2038 Wednesday morning.
It was the first day for kindergartners with last names A-K. Kindergartners with last names L-Z will start on Thursday.
The eight kindergarten teachers explained classroom rules, toured the building, and introduced the students to the playground.
There are 144 kindergartners this year.
The first week is used to acclimate the young learners.
The kindergarten teachers are Amy Bennett-Brinkman, Ashton Childs, Morgan Ebbeskotte, Ami Horvath, Brittany Johnson, Amanda McGee, Samantha Stephens, and Heather Usserman.
Half of the Pre-K students also enjoyed their first day of classes at Bellefontaine Elementary School on Wednesday. The rest (last names L-Z) will start on Thursday.
Approximately 130 students are attending Pre-K this year at the elementary school.
Bellefontaine City Schools launched the in-house preschool at BES in September 2022.
