BHS great Gail Clark passes away

A former Bellefontaine High School football star and longtime coach has passed away.
Gail Clark, 75, of Bellefontaine, died on Friday.
Clark was a standout Chieftain linebacker from 1965 through 1968.
He then excelled at Michigan State, where he earned All-America and All-Big Ten honors.
Clark played in the NFL for the Steelers, Bears, and Patriots.
Gail returned home and served as an assistant football coach at BHS for 40 years.
He also was the executive director of the Logan County Metropolitan Housing Authority for several decades.
Bellefontaine head football coach Jason Brown reflected on Clark’s legacy.
“There really aren’t words meaningful enough to describe the man, and there certainly aren’t words strong enough to describe his impact. We are all blessed and grateful for every step we took with him on his journey. Our love forever Coach Clark.”
Clark is survived by his wife Kathryn and his three sons.
Gail graduated from BHS in 1969.
Arrangements are being handled by Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
