Caleb Gonterman Alumni Spotlight

In this week's Alumni Spotlight, we're catching up with alumna Caleb Gonterman

What are you doing now?

Hi my name is Caleb Gonterman, I graduated in 2021. I then went off to Hocking College where I obtained my Firefighter 2 and Paramedic certifications. I met my fiance from college and now have a 14 month old daughter. I then proceeded to obtain a job at Jackson township fire department in Grove City, Ohio. I now own my own home and reside in Bloomingburg,Ohio.

How did BCS prepare you for this role?

BHS helped me by giving me a large networking group and resources I would later use in my college career.

What is your advice for current Chieftains?

To learn the importance of hard work and dedication as it is an important attribute in the workforce and everyday adult life

Who at BCS inspired you?

Mr Garver. Mr. Garver instilled what I know about hard work and dedication. He taught me that even though things may not go right the first time through perseverance you can correct your mistakes and have a better outcome than the prior.

What was your favorite memory from your time at BCS?

No specific memory that was my favorite but the friendships created through school. High school is one of the most optimal places to connect with other peers which many take for granted not realizing in the adult life your opportunities for meeting new people are not as often as high school

What was your favorite meal in the cafeteria?

100% the spicy crispy chicken wrap
