Jennifer Neeld Alumni Spotlight
In this week's Alumni Spotlight, we're catching up with alumna Jennifer Neeld (1995)

What are you doing now?
I am now residing in Marion OH and engaged to be married next year to the man of my dreams! I am a Mom of 3. My 2 daughters are graduates of Ohio Northern and both reside in Bellefontaine. My youngest son just graduated High School and resides in Marion. I went to college in Piqua at Edison State Community College majoring in Chemistry. This prepared me for the role I'm in now at Owens Corning in Granville, OH. This is their Science & Technology campus. I started my career there in research & development and was recently promoted. I now work in Quality where I hope to ultimately become a Quality Engineer.
How did BCS prepare you for this role?
BHS was my springboard to the Science field. While I was better known in Bellefontaine's Art Department, my Science labs and teachers inspired me to pursue Chemistry and my love for Science! I've worked in a science laboratory of some form my entire adult life. This accumulation of skills & experience ultimately led me to my dream job at Owens Corning!
What is your advice for current Chieftains?
My advice to current Chieftains is: Choose a career that you will love waking up every morning to go to (because you have a lot of mornings coming to you). If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life!
Who at BCS inspired you?
My classmates inspired me! The hope and determination we all had in our eyes on graduation day inspired me to make good on the promises I made as we all left Bellefontaine High. My entire class, whether they knew it or not, were my accountability partners. I was driven to become who I said I was going to become.
What was your favorite memory from your time at BCS?
Hands down, musical season! Being in all 4 years of musicals gave me intense core memories, whether it was practices, show night or the after party! I will never forget all the fun I had and friendships I made.
What was your favorite meal in the cafeteria?
Cafeteria? We were allowed to go out for lunch when I was in school. I don't think I ate ONE meal in the cafeteria! My favorite meal was Fazolis! Two words: Endless Breadsticks!
